AWS solutions architect / DevOps engineer

Web and mobile app development company in London, UK is looking for a DevOps engineer to help build functional systems that improve customer experience.

DevOps engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet customer needs. Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.

DevOps engineer responsibilities:

  • Develop, test and maintain build and deployment scripts in a CI/CD development model
  • Assist with the automation and streamlining of deployment processes to multiple environments
  • Creating the tools required to deploy and manage applications effectively in Test environments, with minimal manual effort
  • Helping teams to adopt modern delivery practices, such as extensive use of automated testing, continuous integration and more frequent releases
  • Configuring and managing code repositories, continuous builds, cloud platforms and other tools
  • Contributing towards a culture of continuous improvement
  • Implement requested integrations
  • Deploy updates and fixes
  • Build tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Develop scripts to automate visualisation
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Report on service environment operational effectiveness and the status or projects

Key skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Enterprise level systems and network administration experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Enterprise level code and deployment automation experience
  • Work experience as a DevOps engineer
  • Experience with automation and configuration management
  • Experience with AWS CloudFormation
  • Experience with AWS CodeDeploy, CodePipeline etc.
  • A working understanding of code and script (Ruby, PHP or Python…)
  • Good understanding of version control system GitHub - branching, merging…
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated builds
  • Knowledge and experience on configuration management tools
  • Knowledge of Active Directory group policy objects and administration
  • Network infrastructure and security design and operational maintenance experience
  • Conversational level of English language
  • Working knowledge of databases
  • Problem solving attitude
  • Understand the project aims and offer professional and commercial insight to ensure client satisfaction
  • Production of high level and low level design documents and other technical project related artefacts
  • Strong knowledge of the AWS Well architected framework(s)
  • Architecting large scale cloud migration projects
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve complex, multi-system problems
  • Extensive experience in architecting cloud solutions
  • Experience of working in an Agile team
  • Fast learner, continually looking for ways to improve customer satisfaction
